The first week here was an orientation week which meant a lot of getting used to new surroundings and meeting new people, there are 50 students from 27 different countries in our international students group. Having a conversation with a Mexican, Korean, Swede and Kazakh in English, in Austria is surreal. On Thursday we had a pub crawl with all the international students and buddies around Wels. At each pub we had different challenges to complete including: designing a flag for a new country (the Glorious United Republic of Wels), writing a song for said country (a rip off of “Call Me Maybe”) and a sack race (which I won). My team claimed a glorious second place overall in the pub crawl challenge to cap off a good night of fun with new friends.
